About Expressive Arts Psychotherapy Expressive Arts Psychotherapy is a holistic, relational approach to psychotherapy that integrates creative expression within a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship. Rather than focusing solely on visual art, expressive arts therapy may incorporate a variety of creative modalities—including visual art, writing, movement, music, storytelling, drama, sand tray, and imagination—to support exploration, healing, and personal growth. No artistic or creative experience is necessary. Through the creative process, thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, memories, and experiences can be expressed in ways that may be difficult to access through words alone. Creative expression can foster insight, emotional regulation, self-compassion, resilience, and new perspectives while supporting deeper self-understanding and lasting change. Our approach is relational, client-centred, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in principles of mindfulness, somatic awareness, and attachment-informed practice. We believe healing occurs through authentic relationship, curiosity, creativity, and compassionate exploration of each person’s unique lived experience. Expressive Arts Psychotherapy can benefit children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and personal growth. Relationship, trust, and authenticity are at the heart of meaningful therapy. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore, create, and move toward the life you want to live. If you are curious about whether Expressive Arts Psychotherapy is right for you, we invite you to contact us for a complimentary consultation. We would be happy to discuss your goals and help you determine the therapist and approach that best fits your needs.

This model allows clients to access high-quality psychotherapy at a more affordable rate while benefiting from the additional support and oversight that accompanies supervised practice. Our RP (Qualifying) therapists provide compassionate, client-centred care to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, and personal growth. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and may integrate a variety of evidence-informed approaches depending on your goals. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or looking to better understand yourself, our RP (Qualifying) therapists are here to provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space to help you move toward meaningful and lasting change.
While our Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) are not Art Therapists or Registered Art Psychotherapists, they practice within a creative, collaborative clinical environment where they receive supervision, mentorship, and professional development alongside experienced art and expressive arts psychotherapists. As a result, where appropriate and within their individual scope of competence, they may thoughtfully incorporate art-informed and creative therapeutic interventions into psychotherapy to support reflection, emotional expression, mindfulness, and self-discovery.
