I’m Shawna Banville, a Registered Art Psychotherapist and founder of Grey Bruce Art Therapy & Associates, with over 19 years of experience supporting individuals and families navigating trauma, mental health challenges, and life transitions. I believe in the capacity for growth and healing, and aim to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported.
Art therapy offers a mindful way of exploring your inner world through creativity. Within a supportive therapeutic relationship, it allows for both verbal and non-verbal expression—helping to process thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to put into words.
My approach is relational, client-centred, and trauma-informed, integrating mindfulness, somatic awareness, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and DBT-informed practices. Together, we move at your pace, building insight, emotional regulation, and deeper self-connection.
Art therapy can be helpful for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. No artistic experience is needed—just a willingness to be curious.
